Miqdam bin Madikarib said:

“I heard the Messenger of Allah (Peace and Blessings be upon him) say: ‘A human being fills no worse vessel than his stomach. It is sufficient for a human being to eat a few mouthfuls to keep his spine straight. But if he must (fill it), then one third of food, one third for drink and one third for air.’”

"Nilimsikia Mtume wa Allah( Rehema na Baraka zimshukie) akisema: 'Hakuna chombo kibaya binadamu hukijaza kama tumbo lake. Inamtosha Binadamu kula madonge machache kuusimamisha imara uti wake wa mgongo. Lakini ikimbidi aujaze, basi aweke theluthi moja chakula, theluthi moja maji, na theluthi moja hewa'".

Story of the Day - Sunrise/Sunset

Narrated Ibn `Umar:

Allah's Messenger () said, "When the (upper) edge of the sun appears (in the morning), don't perform a prayer till the sun appears in full, and when the lower edge of the sun sets, don't perform a prayer till it sets completely. And you should not seek to pray at sunrise or sunset for the sun rises between two sides of the head of the devil (or Satan). (Bukhari 9:59)

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abdullah ibn Dinar from Abdullah ibn Umar that Umar ibn al-Khattab used to say, "Do not intend to do your prayer at either sunrise or sunset, for the horns of Shaytan rise with the rising of the sun and set with its setting."

Umar used to beat people for that kind of prayer. (Bukhari 15:49)

Tukumbukeni tu kutokufanya kufuru, maana unajikuta wakati umefunga unatamani kila kitu, futari tunabugia, matokea yake? choo kinakuwa cha tabu. Maji yanaanza kuendesha digestive system yako.

Na tende zimejaa virutubisho kibao, za kukupa nguvu na fiber ya kukusaidia kupata choo vizuri.

Basi tujitahidini kuswali Magharibi kabla ya kuanza hizo main course za futari, maana ile inama inuka pia zoezi, lakini ni zoezi zuri kwa vile unamshukuru Mtawala wa ulimwengu kwa kukuwezesha kupata hiyo futari.

Being Muslim in Las Vegas

Even for someone indifferent or downright hostile to religion, Friday prayers at a mosque have a haunting sound and beauty, a compelling quality of devoutness and spirituality rare in any other faith and hard not to find deeply affecting. At Masjid-e-Tawheed, the mosque I am visiting on a crisp winter's morning, there is good reason, perhaps, for the congregation of more than 200 to feel an extra surge of passion for their faith, of feeling that theirs is the right belief system for this flawed world.
For while in one direction from the mosque, the view of barren, rocky mountains shimmering in the desert sunlight could place Masjid-e-Tawheed in any number of locations in the Islamic world, a couple of miles in the opposite direction lies what one would imagine to be the worst place in the world for an even halfway-strict Muslim – something, indeed, not unlike hell.

Ramadhan Dua - Ya Tawaab

This dua is usually recited on the month of Ramadhan, during the night prayers aka Taraweeh. It is usually recited in between the prayers, some mosques recite it loudly after every 2 Rakkahs(Prayer ritual of 2 bows and 2 prostrations), some after every 4, some after every 10 and some none at all. However, in Tanzania most mosques say this dua in between prayers throughout Ramadhan.

A’isha (May Allah be pleased with her) asked the Prophet(peace be upon him), “If I knew which night is Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Power), what should I say during it?” The Prophet told her to say:

Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni.

“O Allah, truly You are all-Pardoning, You love to Pardon, so Pardon me.” [Tirmidhi]
